The objective will not be to conquer Iran. It will be to control Khuzestan. The rest of Iran can go to hell as far as these folks are concerned. Iraq had to be occupied because of the need to establish bases spaced hundreds of miles apart. Once that is done, there is no need to occupy inhospitable and barren mountainous land when all that is needed is to control less than 10 percent of the land area that has more than 90 percent of the oil.
