Speaking of gold I've really enjoyed "The Power of Gold", very good read and some very interesting history. Thanks for the heads up.

On another metal I understand that China is using vast amounts of zinc. I suppose the main use would be for the millions of galvanized steel roofs being erected there. Does this make sense? Even the new galvalume type plating uses a good bit of zinc.

There is a Canadian company, Eurozinc Mining, that owns copper and zinc mines in Portugal. They got a listing on the AMEX last month (Symbol EZM) and it looks like these and the Canadian listed shares both are on a tear.
