Bush supporters are notorious for ignoring the hypocrisy of his positions. Bush's speeches are populist, but his actions are pure corporate.

Bush talks of education and opportunity for all, then takes positions that make it harder for poor and minority students to succeed.

Bush talks of democracy and liberty, then secretly supports the emasculation of the Constitution.

Bush talks of the importance of the war on terror, then ignores bin Laden for the folly in Iraq.

So, proclaiming a position of alternate energy, then cutting its research, is no big surprise. In fact, such hypocrisy is his modus operandi.

Bush's energy secretary also said Bush didn't really mean it about cutting reliance on Arab oil. Incredible gall for Bush to outright lie about his intentions like that. He is still in the pockets of Big Oil and the saudis, and always will be.
