I used the cash payout and left the lottery commissions figure the present value for me. The Power Ball for instance has a 20 year annuity the sum of which they publicise as the payout. It also has a short term cash payout.

As far as figuring the month or few of cash value depreciation, I will pass.

The bottom line is the lottery is a dab idea, and is morally reprehensible.
