The Bush Dec-Jan PR blitz has failed. They put everything they had into that one, between the Iraqi vote and the State Of The Union. The PR blitz started when Bush hit 35% approvals in November, the lowest since Nixon during Watergate. Now Bush has proven he cannot even hold the 40% level for more than a week or so. His support is soft and eroding, and meanwhile his opposition is a clear majority of the country and hardened against him.

This is not even Dems vs. Repubs. Independents are now solidly against Bush as are many GOP moderates and traditional conservatives (those who believe in small government, honesty, ethics and civil liberties). When a presdient falls below 40% he becomes very safe to impeach and it shows very few people like or trust him anymore.
