Programmers I've been at this some time ... since the minicomputer cowboy days... Now I do the work of a team just ten years ago... Java programmers are a dime a dozen seems to me.. I'm lucky I've a small profitable niche and I don't plan on needing to work more than a couple more years..

My Dad is a civil engineer but went into the family food business... only a few of his friends stayed civils.. Many had to work as draughtsmen.. some teachers... but i think that was for a different reason... they were just late to the party.. and there was a glut... now productivity tools and outsourcing are the factors...

"Programmers will be eliminated soon though, just as have stockbrokers, as easier and easier to use programming languages become available."

You can't be serious. Do you believe that no more prorams will be developed? Surely not. Then perhaps there will be programs created without programmers. They will create themselves? Maybe you really mean that we will all be programmers. I laugh.
