We are all Danes now By Jeff Jacoby, Globe Columnist \| February 5, 2006 Good article. It was good to see some Muslim clerics trying to stop the rioters in Lebanon. They didn't succeed but at least they tried. Interestingly enough, after the rioters burned the Danish embassy, they looted shops in Christian neighborhoods. Their actions spoke volumes.

We are all Danes now I supposed you are going to go praising the Danes for offending 20% of the population on the planet? I say they have the legal right to do so, just as I have the right to join the Nazi party of America, but offending 20% of the planet is nothing praiseworthy or honorable or decent, and it certainly does not unite the global population around the Danes. Its about as unifiying as publishing naked pictures of your wife. Essentially, the Danes have behaved like arrogant, insensitive assholes in this matter, and it doesn't make me want to be a Dane now.
