Indeed. It was quite clear to me that they diverged in only that way.

"One is paid in silver, and the other gets an equivalent value in fish."

The problem, TP, is that those are outcomes. The labor of these two guys results in either a handful of silver or a crate full of fish, an outcome for which each contracted. Did the guy who took the equivalent value in fish make a mistake by not taking payment in silver or converting his fish into something more durable upon receipt? Perhaps, but that's neither here nor there.
