On Al Franken's show, they were talking about meeting with true conservatives. They were lamenting about how the conservative movement has been turned on its head.

They had become conservatives because they wished to protect the power of Congress against an encroaching executive branch and now they're seeing their work fly out the window.

None of this makes any sense. The conservatives have to take back their party. Ditto the progressives. Both the Dems and Reps have become bowled over by commercial interests.

Capitalism is one thing but government through big business leads to nothing but failure and misery. We're looking, yet again, at a record budget deficit and the possibility of a bombing campaign against Iran.

How does this help our competitive position in the world?

True cloth coat Republicans, true conservatives are as frightened by this government as progressives are.
