The budget fiction is like a lot of other government statistical fiction. I stopped believing most of their stats long ago.

The budget won't get fixed until there is a bipartisan across-the-board package that spreads the pain and doesn't keep any sacred cows for one particular partisan interest group or ideology.

Have you seen any particulars of that yet? I haven't. Until we do, I don't know what there is to talk about.
