If we do not have another attack I will apologize. The point is, very little of the stuff that removes our civil liberties actually helps prevent Al Qaeda attacks. There is no reason not to get a warrent for survelance. There is no reason to inspect everyone's bunions at the airport. There is no reason to photograph and follow the people at Cindy Sheehan's speeches. There is no reason for duct tape and orange-alert sky is falling pronouncements. These things do not make us safer, they don't even make me feel safer, instead I feel like we are becoming a much more likely to be a target.
