They are not monopsony, the governments compete against one another; the drug companies compete for the government contracts. It's a vibrant, competitive marketplace... except for the US where our laws have excluded us from competing.

re: There isn't a real world market. There are subsidized and heavily regulated, often to the point of being government controlled national markets. Buyers and sellers are not negotiating freely and determining prices.

Welcome to the real world. It's not perfect. So let's screw our seniors on drug prices for a libertarian principle?
