Yeah, I just found the thread I was posting on that week.

It appears I was Long SP 915 puts and it closed 859.

Next day I recall it dropped to around 835, perhaps a bit lower.

All I can find of "The Prediction" was this....

Message 2557118

But I can't find exactly where the prior Close was.

I really don't want to fire up that old laptop but I will if I cannot find better data. It will bug me all night otherwise.

Dusted off the computer.

Can't recall exactly how to use this old MS Works database tho.

Looking specifically at 10/27/97 and 10/28/97 the SP Closed on Friday at 944 and on Monday at 874, officially. Closed on the Low.

Tuesday it collapsed to 844, (9:25 Eastern Standard Time). Rose to 932 (3:30 EST) and Closed at 924.50

Neither was 10%. My memory was fuzzed up by forgetting the order of things, the days flowed into one another. The SP was down, by Monday's Close, roughly 15% in a matter of 3 or 4 days.

Monday was one of those days where the Market shut down early.
