Thats seems likely to me, because the Saudi top guys had known all the way about the Denmark incident and were satisfied by excuses et all back then.

Guess they wanted to avoid a "Red Sea Ferry Effect" by off linking the background behind their Haji disaster in direction Denmark. Makes sense indeed.

It's really been a fairly steady buildup of anger over the cartoons, but we didn't know that because American media didn't cover it until Western embassies began burning.
