A few republican senators tried to support ag but most of the message seemed to be ag and president taking away senator power.

Senators don't like the idea that the Prez can do anything without their permission. Goes back to Caesar.

I think that probably is what this is all about, each govt trying to hoard its power. However, IMHO the MAIN JOB of the president is to protect the country and direct war once approved by Congress. For the life of me, I cant see how the NSA program as I have come to understand how it works can be considered anything other then a typical MILITARY operation in a time of war. How is it we can launch a cruise missle at a terrorist target and not listen to him on the phone? jdn
