Hi Sam,

>>I think it may be unwise to stake the future of OLPC on mesh<<

Checkout low-cost, low-power Wimax chipsets. OOPS

The future of OLPC has little to do with mesh in any case, and more to do with $30 display technology.

On reconsideration of the issue of mesh networking, in light of the immaturity of this technology, I think it may be unwise to stake the future of OLPC on mesh, when it is possible that more mature technologies, like WIMAX, may offer competitive network cost advantages in certain areas.

I am interested in how you reached the conclusion that WiMAX is more mature than mesh.
