Some on the right. I would argue that some on the left have the same problem, and I'm really tired of the generalizations that make either side seem monolithic, because they aren't (imo).

I agree with you that some on the right are trying to paint the left as being soft on terror, but I think the element of deliberateness varies. Many of the right have bought their own meme, before trying to pass it on. While there are cynics who may use memes without believing them, most people swallow the meme first, before they try regurgitating it.

I have seen the left challenge the meme. Perhaps not everyone on the left challenges it, but then the left isn't lockstep any more than the right.
