Maybe a bit hyperbolic, but I believe we'll see a distancing from the President by a good number of GOP mainstreamers. Previous reports were that Bush ruled more with an iron hand than employing the LBJ technique. Once weakness is perceived, as with Bush's current position, more and more GOP congressmen and women will assume more and more moderate positions, I predict, during the upcoming elections.
