Uncertainties abound and education is no guarantee of anything -- there are now teeming numbers of very smart, very educated young people around the world and they are very ready to jump in and run the show. The rest of the world is going to challenge the economic supremacy the US presumes it has and will maintain -- the US is no longer a safe bet to win this competition. On the contrary, we are wasting our time on issues of relatively minor importance like the fate of competing Muslim sects and the preservation of manual labor. Neither will matter much in the long run compared to the core issues pertaining to how we make a living in this brave new global economy.
