Too bad you do not read mainstream newspapers. Editorials have clearly indicated that it is because of those wiretaps on MLK and others in the 60's and 70's that the FISA law was enacted by Congress. The law wanted to protect individual rights and make it a crime if those rights were violated. So wiretapping in those days was not a crime. It is wrong no doubt. But in the case of Bush, what he did was not only wrong but he committed a crime. He even misled Americans during his campaign during 2004. Worse that "I did not sleep with that woman." What he did was tell the American people "I did not violate your private lives." Somebody lying about their private sex lives or somebody lying about the violation of our civil liberties?
