These rioters are less than 2% of the population....if that. 2% of the population? Are you kidding? The rioters are less than 0.1% of the population, but they are 90% of the TV coverage of ME Muslims. Given that MM thinks there are hundreds of thousands involved, I figured he would cry foul at the lower number even though I too think its the right one. Mindmeld probably thinks 20% of US housewives are screwing their teenage gardeners because Eva Longoria is one of five housewives on Desperate Housewives, and she screwed her teenage gardener. Yup. Especially if they are Latina. Isn't that how most beliefs or biases get reinforced? He seems to think if it's on TV it must be representative of normal reality! Unfortunately, its not MM who's the problem IMO. He's at least open to discussing it. Its all the people who are saying nothing but thinking the same thoughts as MM. They are the ones who worry me. BTW I am glad to hear of your experiences re. Muslims. I don't meet as many as you do, but my experiences are much the same......that they are really nice people. Sometimes its hard to keep sight of that when all the news is so negative.
