Whether you or I agree or not, OBL, his followers and many Muslims see all of SA as Mecca....not just the city.

Your links don't support the above claim that OBL considers all of SA to be Mecca. They just say that the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina are in the country of Saudi Arabia.

One of my links says he considers all of SA to be holy.

All I am saying is that bin Laden and other Muslims see all of SA as holy.......like Mecca is holy.

Well, why didn't you say so in the first place?

Sorry. Holy/Mecca to me mean the same thing.

He attacked Kuwait because at one time, Kuwait was part of Iraq and he saw it as a re-annexation move.

Ha! He attacked and took Kuwait because he could. The country of Iraq was created in the 1920s and Kuwait was never part of it. Ever. Kuwait got independence from British control in the early 1970s. If he had taken Kuwait, incorporated it into his "kingdom", the next logical step would be SA. Unless he suddenly became peaceful and his aggressive ambitions suddenly ceased. I think the former more likely.

Iraqis believe that Kuwait was originally a part of Iraq. I don't remember what the argument is behind their belief. Saddam simply acted on that belief. I highly doubt he would have gone into SA.

"1961 June 19: End of British protection, the shaykh changes his title to emir.
— Kuwait joins the Arab League. Iraq objects strongly to this and claims that Kuwait is part of their territory."
