The stubborn unwillingness to accept that a large number of the electorate is disturbed by the manner in which this was done and questions the process...

I understand what you're saying, Rambi, but I wonder how much of the electorate noise is driven by politics. As an old geezer I tend to put my political filter on high when listening to anyone inside the beltway.

...even if they believe they WERE justified, is exactly the attitude that has destroyed belief in this admin. for a great number of voters.

This is where I'm confused. From what I hear and read, the voters don't necessarily have the POV as the talking heads (left and right).

Whether they have the legal authority or not has ceased to matter at this point (imo). The stubborn unwillingness to accept that a large number of the electorate is disturbed by the manner in which this was done and questions the process, and the refusal to ask for changes to the program if indeed it wasn't functioning properly even if they believe they WERE justified, is exactly the attitude that has destroyed belief in this admin. for a great number of voters. It's plain arrogance.

Rambi, I posted this article as a sort've counterpoint to a post by Holt. If I thought for one moment that the opposition you speak of was really interested in changes to the program they would not be in their makeup on the telly arguing this issue. They would be behind closed doors so that any potential secret type of info would not available to our enemies. Instead, they (most democrats and some republicans) are getting their requisite "face time" for the next election. This is more about them than it is about us.

Regarding your claim of arrogance. A little on each side, perhaps?
