This Govt. is all for cutting/returning taxes. So my question is why not the Govt. tax less for those who but fuel efficient cars, provide tax benefits to those who car pool or take public transport etc. GAs is used for essential work such as by the farmers, airline industries etc. Maybe they can give tax breaks for air travel which is less than 300 miles or so. If Cheney has a will then he can surely have very creative ways to encourage conservation in gas consumption without compromising on his belief in free markets.
