I think they are two different questions, Rambi. I think the social vision which includes the right to health care for every citizen is much preferred to the one we now have. But I have to live with the fact it's politically not viable at the moment.

I do, however, to stick with this point, think the policy direction embedded in the notion of the right is likely to reappear on the table as globalization proceeds apace. One need only look at the comparative labor costs of Japan and the US to see that US business may well take up the cause one of these days.
