Bush wins, in my judgment, because he demonstrated that he is a gentleman and a statesman, where the others demonstrated that they are nothing more than hacks.

I would have thought they might have learned that a majority of Americans don't think that is cool after the Wellstone funeral, but I guess not. As I recall they lost a ton of support after Wellstone's funeral. Most folks realize that people come to the services to honor the deceased. It is considered traditional and in good taste for people to put aside their differences. Those type of self serving demonstrations send a different message and one that a lot of people find distasteful as it overshadows the memory of the person and is inherently selfish in nature
