But clarity does not mean beneficial. I agree with your view that Israel can assert it is now the Pal government attacking them. But what good does that do? It provides short-term support for tougher measures. Fine. What good does that do?

This question Israel must ask, is where are we going with these near term steps?

IMO, the world rhetoric after Hamas won was idiotic. The West & Israel should have congratulated the Pals on holding a pretty fair election, they should have congratulated Hamas on winning, then stated that they stand ready and willing to assist Hamas in becoming a responsible government. It is actually the same message, Hamas must become responsible if they are to govern. But the tone from the West & Israel was poison instead. What a bunch of screwups!

<<It's similar to how we tolerate encroachment across our own border with Mexico and the crime that it brings to the US. Should Mexico suddenly elect a virulently anti-US Islamo-Fascist (or even a "casro copy"), the US would have the right to retaliate and/or even declare war.>>

If the US declares war on Mexico I hope they melt everything within 100 miles of the boarder. My brother-in-law is hiding out there and owes me $2,700 that I'll never collect.
