You can't undo the damage overnight. It took 50 years or so for them to impoverish themselves with communism, it'll take many years for them to come up to the level of the West.

I bet general chen is saying the reverse - it took 50 years for the USA to impoverish themselves with crony capitalism, and they will never recapture the lead china is about to take.
