It would take a little over $55 per week to make him rich. But at 8% steady investment in 500 weeks (less than ten years) he would have $41,307.76. On the 457th week interest would exceed $55. On the thousandth week he would have $130,214.41 and his interest would be almost $200 per week. After 20 years his gross would be $270,766.92.

You are correct. He would have won the lottery. His interest would be over $414 per week, not a bad suppliment to a retirement account.

After the 2000th week it would be to $733,416.97, with interest of $1123.43.
