A secondary failing is that partisans see the stubborn refusal of their opponents to recognize clear faults, but rarely if ever believe they have any of their own.

I could understand and forgive all the rest--the mindlessness, the biases, the ossification, even the rancor--in those who could at least see that the two sides are pots and kettles. But that particular failing makes me want to hit them both with a frying pan. <g>
