Yes it was a bit simplistic. It reads like something tossed off quickly in response to the author reading an article about the study.

Some more information from the studies might have helped (but maybe not much, without the information you can't really tell). OTOH it did strike me as being about a subject that would interest you both from a systems/process perspective, and the (unfortunately brief and relatively shallow) analysis of how (apparently) incorrect "conventional wisdom" can be maintained even if data suggests it might not be true.

To look to see if there was anything deeper or more nuanced in the study I followed the links in the blog post.
