Chirac is a French conservative. The only reason Bushies sought to smear him is that the French oil company ELF had a contract with Saddam, and the Texas oil companies wanted a monopoly on Iraqi oil. You can cheer Chevron and Exxon all you like, but it was all about oil money, none of which flows back to the American people, of course, though we pay for everything with our money and our sons' blood.

He should have pointedly spoken to the fact that the violent reaction to the cartoons underscores what he's been saying about radical Islam all along.

Bush is not cut out to be a world class leader with a finnesse. He should have taken advice from you and just said the way he think, classlessly.
