Steve...."I dont agree that one family consisting of a handful of people can be responsible for the welfare state run by their governments."....

Gees, don't know about that one... Iraq and the hussien family...palestinian territories and arafat....Saudi Arabia and the house of Saud... Suppose I could find more. In our countries we elect people to govern but still the citizens have to accept some responsibility for what their elected officials do while in power. I think that is why Bush was elected during a time of war instead of the kerry types who my seek to appease the enemy instead of stopping them.

Like Canada electing successive liberal governments that for the most part wiped out Canad's military. Granted the voting system in Canada may be screwed up but still it is the citizens of a democratic country that empower governments and so must accept some responsibility.
