I must admit I shared many of your misguided impressions regarding firearms, that is until I bought a few and started getting actual experience besides what I was feed by the media. Let me make clear.......you and I are nowhere close to being alike. Its possible we share similar views on some subjects, but that's by chance and nothing else. Life experience seems to be the thing your missing, you just take shots at the world from the side lines - get a job, get a life Ted. I work and go to grad school. That keeps me pretty busy. Having said that, its so like a GOPer......so ready to judge based on limited info.
