And IMO, this is the same thing the Jihadists are fighting over. No way could you have Jihad without religion IMO. The problem I see is that people of faith can always point to any 'bad' thing done in the name of religion, and say, "Those people don't understand God correctly". The O.T. has clear examples of conquest in the M.E. very little different from what is attempted today, with quite clear claims that God commanded it. If you accept that history, how can you claim that either Jew or Muslim today fighting for Jerusalem, or Christians bent on assisting the 2'nd Coming, are not also following what to their best understanding is in fact God's will for them? I don't see any clear solution to that. Someone once said that Jews see God as their Real Estate Agent, while Muslims see God as their General. There is much truth to that IMO. For Christians, it is more diverse I think.
