100% of Abramoff's donations were to Republicans.

All the record are right here. Check them out.

Reid never got a dime from Abramoff. Read the story carefully. The whole story rests on an allegation that Reid made a phonecall for an Indian tribe.

If that is the yard stick we now use for corruption then fine with me, throw out Reid and also the entire GOP congress and senate. Lock them up in prison.

Abramoff gave to every single major GOP leader, the national party, GOP PAC's galore and anyone else Delay told him to give to.

It is not illegal to take money from an Indian tribe. In fact, Indian tribes normally give to democrats because dems care more about native Americans.

It is only illegal to trade that for legislation like DElay and his band of crooks obviously did. This is about corruption, bribery and selling legislation.

I have always said though, that if any evidence does arise showing corruption by a democrat, he can be indicted too, along with about 100 top Republicans guilty in this scandal, including GW Bush himself.

"AP: Sen. Reid helped Abramoff's clients"

Strange article. There is this part

But Abramoff's records show his lobbying partners billed for nearly two dozen phone contacts or meetings with Reid's office in 2001 alone.

Most were to discuss Democratic legislation that would have applied the U.S. minimum wage to the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. territory and an Abramoff client, but would have given the islands a temporary break on the wage rate, the billing records show.

Sounds like Reid was working with Abramoff's people to get the Mariana Islands a special deal, doesn't it? The reality is a lot different, Reid was co-sponsor of the bill that would require the Mariana Islands to set their minimum wage at US standards. The billing records reflect the attempts of Abramoff's partners to influence Reid. Given that the vote ws pretty much along party lines with Republicans opposing requiring the Mariana Islands to conform to US law, and Democrats, especially Reid, requiring conformity, it is hard to argue that Reid was Abramoff's puppet.

Not that I think Reid is clean, I don't. But tis isn't the issue.
