Considering their limited technology, the Africans have been doing quite well lately. Apart from Rwanda, which everyone knows about, there is the Congo war, which has taken care of more than 3 million without attracting much attention: en.wikipedia.org What was/is it about? I have no idea, but I expect that Congo's mineral resources figure in any explanation.

I love these open ended discussions,greenhouse effect vs. ice age coming back,who's the most proficient killer of mankind,US or Russia or China,Hitler or Stalin or most likely Mao, etc. etc....BUT THE ONE THAT KEEPS ME AWAKE..what happens when a zealot Muslim nation gets nuclear weapons and they can't wait to kill and die for their vision of truth?Pakistan overthrow could bring that online rather quickly.I don't mean one or two dirty bombs,I mean a full fledged nuclear arsenal.Would not a few dozen such bombs effectively end just about any country's future ? And what would the eco system be like then? Not to mention miscalculations on the parts of big nuclear powers,who would hit who first?
