Mish -

Hi - never posted here or to you .....

this part of your post intrigued me because it was
*kinda*, *sorta*, *maybe* inferred by others ...

A warning shot was fired but when the BOJ did not end their ZIRP today, boom back up went gold.

are you saying there is a (apparently) very strong connection
between the (a) strong yen and (b) the price of gold.

IOW - if the boj takes its rate north (lets say a full point)
this tanks gold?

My question is:WHY?

Is the inference that the YEN becomes the NEW world currency
and gold beats a hasty retreat ....

Not arguing ... just not seeing all the connectors between
the dots ...

regards,
John McCarthy
