Technological development will not slow, quite to the contrary. It is the only way that companies located in the West will be able to compete with cheaper labor in the East. In the end far fewer will have a job. I remember having dinner with Dr. FC Kohli (often referred to as the "Father of the Indian Software Industry") of Tata a number of years ago. He was quite concerned as he reflected and then talked extensively about the quandary of replacing people with software systems in a country like India with so much unemployment. His India is tomorrow's world.
