I agree with everything you said, except the last sentence. I think it's the other way around. Muslims are going to have to learn that if they don't want to be bombed into the stone ages, they will have to figure out how to evolve their 7th century thinking to be more compatible with the demands of the modern era. The West is willing to bend. In fact, especially American culture is geared to acceptance of all sorts of bizarre religions and behavior. But it can't be only the West that brings acceptance to the table. Muslims need to evolve. Otherwise, the clash of civilizations will continue, and I daresay, Muslims will continue getting the short end of the stick because the West has all the money and all the power.
