"Mr. Reid also intervened on government matters at least five times in ways helpful to Abramoff's tribal clients, once opposing legislation on the Senate floor and four times sending letters pressing the Bush administration on tribal issues."

Given how the article slanted things and left out crucial parts, this part, no doubt, has a larger story that paints a different picture. Given that Reid is from Nevada, it isn't any great surprise that he has a tendency to oppose the building of new casinos outside of Nevada. The fact that this might dovetail with Abramoff's clients desires doesn't signal a causal link.

But, ok. If Reid is dirty, then he should be charged.
