"I take it that you prefer to associate yourself with that part of human nature that seeks to do good, and in doing so, subjugates others. If classical liberal ideology reflected our true nature, then human history would be very different. "

Humans have learnt from experience, this is one of our strength and, at least at times, we have incorporated an experience of failure into something we hope will result in "better". Also most "doings" will have an impact on somebody. In addition, what is considered "good" is generally culturally biased. Therefore any action can be considered "good" or "bad" depending on the context and a personal or a group's perspective. Group or even individual behavior then imposes rules on others which can easily be called subjugation.

Just about all of our actions have a purpose, most often to benefit ourselves in some form. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to qualify what "doing good" implies. I gather from your posts that your perspectives have just as much of a value judgment/bias regarding "good" in them. Is "good" what you believe in?

i have no idea whatsoever what you mean by "doing good". But I am reasonably sure it has nothing to do whatsoever with what i consider our true nature. but enough.

LOL... most are in denial as to what they are all about. Sadly compassion is only available to those who are willing to accept their, and human, limitations.
