Is There A McCain-Media Man Love Group...?

[Imus Has Joined This Club Too]

huffingtonpost.com

<<...Ms. Ephron posits that American men, particularly American men in the media, have fallen into such a steaming love affair with John McCain that we’re blind to the flaws in his makeup. It’s a hard point to argue, particularly since McCain’s been the recipient of more dewy-eyed tributes on Sunday morning television than any other member of the “Keating Five.”

And it’s not just the Matthews-Russert crowd that gets all hot and sweaty over McCain. Even Jon Stewart is downright fawning in the great man’s presence...>>

HERE'S AN INTERESTING BLOG READER COMMENT...

<<...McCain worship has nothing to do with gender. It is not just the male pundits who worship him. Andrea Mitchell, Gloria Borger and a whole list of female pundits are also McCain groupies.

McCain worship also has nothing to do with testosterone or his war record. Other war heroes like Wesley Clark, John Kery, John Murtha are not worshipped by the Washington Media Elite.

To understand the McCain worship phenomenon you have to understand the Washington journalism culture. It is a lot like high school. Everybody wants to be part of the cool clique. It is cool to be a McCain groupie because you you can fawn over him without being accused of liberal bias. And among this group there is nothing more uncool than being accused of liberal bias. It is also very cool in this clique to fawn over a politician you don't always agree with on policy matters. McCain is just another right wing republican. So it is oh so cool for journalists to say "I don't agree with him on.......but". It feeds into the counterintuitive fashion craze...>>

Well put the slogan over on Kos and make it stick.
That is where the "happenings" are - but the attention-span is so short that things fly by without commitment - or sometimes comment.

Make it a loud, cool, fruitopia slogan.
And, good luck.
