I haven't seen you post much on Muslim behavior either way, but I wonder, do you lean towards tejek's view, which is that it's ok for Iran to have nukes and that Americans are the root of all evil? Ted doesn't think Americans are the root of all evil. That aside, I think the Muslims are really a non-factor in our western world, except for fact that they control the lifeblood of our economy. If not, Iran would be as significant to us as Bolivia or Botswana. Remember we use 25% of the world's oil; we are paying for their nuke development. Solve the root problem, and the other problems go away. Without the Junkie the Dope Dealer has to get an honest job... and then he's subject to the laws of the civilized world.

Friedman is hard on the Muslims and the Israelis and our idiot President. He doesn't pull any punches. On this thread and in this country, we have way too many people giving Muslims the benefit of the doubt instead of recognizing that they are a very uncivilized group of people with a culture and religion that is not conducive to peace. The last thing this world needs is to coddle the Muslims like they coddled Hitler and the Nazis until it was too late. Comparing Muslims to Hitler/Nazis not only is not comparing apples and oranges, but it doesn't even come close to making any sense. Hitler was one man with a very strong ideology who managed to gain firm control over a country with 60 million people and lots of resources. OBL has a strong ideology, but he does not control a country. Sure, Hitler was upset because the allies required excessive retribution from the Germans for their WW I military aggression. However, the Germans had started the war and were responsible. OBL is upset because the West has stuck its nose in ME affairs for centuries, manipulating the region as much as possible to squeeze out every barrel of oil it can get its hands on. And MM read this very carefully.....unlike Hitler, OBL has sine reason to be pissed. OBL's stance and Bush's ridiculous positioning of the US has encouraged the Muslims to protest against the West. In reality, much of their anger should be focused against their own gov'ts, but that's hard for anyone to do when there are no freedoms. So, instead of recognizing that we have overplayed our hand in the ME, we make it worse by taking your attitude. Just as the German population was not held all that accountable for Hitler's behavior........Muslims should get the same treatment. The US has had its revenge for 9/11.....it now needs to clean up its act. And did I mention your attitude is not helping matters?
