FWIW, I agree that many Libs had a kneejerk reaction to cutting cap gains, simply because it was a "tax cut for the rich". Again, that is only a first order analysis. If the rich consequently taxably trade their assets 3x as much and end up paying more tax, then it was not a tax cut for the rich.

Nothing but a logical extension of Clinton politics, when he lifted the lid to 500k and thus created a large and dominant group of newly rich.

Many of whom no doubt were former dems, who thanked him and his dems by turning their votes to the GOP as most rich people do.
