You must think web-site owners are pretty stupid.

Take a systemic view rather than look at a piece of the pie and you will see that there are checks and balances in the system.

Have you ever operated a web site? Your posts suggest otherwise. If you did, and you did so intelligently with an eye to profit, you would watch traffic to your site very carefully. You would soon discover that there is a ratio between the number of visits to your site and the number of purchases made at your site. Let's call that the conversion ratio.

You know, on average, what a conversion is worth, top-line and bottom line. By merely applying the conversion ratio to this value, you know absolutely what a click is worth to you. And you won't pay a penny more.

If you do, you deserve to succumb to economic darwinism.

The only thing that click fraud really does is drive down the conversion ratio.

It's a nuissance. But it's manageable and budgetable.

The whole point here is that click fraud is manageable.

You keep bringing up the porn industry. Click fraud in the porn industry was against top line revenue. If 95% of your top line evaporates into click-bots pockets, that's a big problem. A huge problem. Click fraud in advertising goes to the advertising budget. If you 95% of your advertising budget goes nowhere, that's business as usual.
