Reid never denied he got contributions from tribes which were also in business with Abramoff, but that's not wrong or unethical. What's unethical and illegal are quid pro quos, ie bribery like most in the GOp congress and Bush himself are guilty of. Did Reid change his vote or lobby for a tribe in exchange for money? If so, he's guilty, if not he's clean.

No connection has been established or proven yet, nothing that would indicate quid pro quo. And I very mucyh doubt that Reid will be a subject the prosecutor finds worthy of study. The rightwing will try to make something of this, but that's only because this is a HUGE-HUGE SCANDAL FOR THE GOP, their entire GOP congress and Bush guilty of bribery with Abramoff. Bush also lied saying he didn't know Abramoff.

Like I posted last night, the actual lobbyist involved with Reid on this states Reid never did them any favors at all. So that ends the issue. Unless he's lying. But you have no proof of that.
