How many other hurricane disasters has the Federal Government shelled out Billions for? Other than the Federal infrastructure, ie roads, etc, and buildings...plus offered help of the military, ....

When the CA earthquake hit in the 1990's, I remember FEMA helping, but don't seem to remember the Feds doing everything, or anything close to it....

And Hugo...

Haven't done any research on that question, but would be glad to know if anyone else has...

I still haven't seen any finished definitions of the States and the Feds as far as who is responsible for helping with what yet either. Have you?

CB, I'm not arguing, or anything else....Actually wonder just how much the Federal Government is responsible for what happens in a State? Where to even look? How has the government treated past disasters, and how was the amount to be paid determined?

I think these are important questions, that should have some answers. If we have a major disaster (bio in particular) that rages through the States, who is in charge of what aspect of help, and how do we as citizens know where, or who, to call with questions, or for help?
