I didn't say Kerry could beat McCain. I said Warner could probably beat McCain. Kerry would beat a rightwinger though.

So by 2008, the question is, are rightwingers so discredited that Kerry can beat any one of them? Or do Dems need a middle of the road red state guy to trouble McCain who is honorable (sort of) but also old hat and pimped for Bush when it counted.

In retrospect, McCain did his country a big disservice by not joining with Kerry and running with him last year.
