< Perhaps some planets have already gone to nuclear war over cartoons!>

It's not really about cartoons Snowy. It's about who is going to be the boss. Islamic Jihad will not stop until they are defeated or are the boss. They remind me a great deal of Adolf.

Right now, politicians around the world are waving pieces of paper and proclaiming "Peace in our time". They do NOT want to confront the monster as robustly as is required for self-defence. Which is understandable. Those guys will kill any opposition, as they have already done to many, such as Van Gogh, Stan Shaw and anyone else who gets in their way. They have a similar mode of operation to that of the Nazis = violence and death to the opposition. Smash windows, light fires, assault and kill.

Islamic Jihad's bottom lines are non-negotiable. The bottom lines are religious ideology out of the dark ages. Libertarianism is NOT a component of Islam.

Not all politicians are simply rolling over, belly up. Chirac has rumbled about nukes if needed. King George II is running a crusade. Putin is no push-over and I'm sure will not forget Islamic Jihad's efforts in Beslan. I doubt that Israel will be interested in seeing whether Iran wants to run another Holocaust, which they have said they do.

Well, I am not in any position to say much about "intelligent life." And yes, this world is filled with "seething contradictions" that make for a 'comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel...'

I find amusement in talk about "honoring diversity," which in my experience, happens about as often as a hole-in-one in a hurricane. A few rare people may tolerate differences in others, but very very few actually honor differences... -dan
